This article is an advanced draft (with facts, comments and speculations) about a shooting that happened in a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, in July 2012. A few months before the US elections – when Obama was on his way to get elected. 3 years later, in the Summer of 2015, a long trial took place. It lasted about 2 months. The challenge for the defense was to avoid the death penalty and they succeeded. Compared to other shootings of this type – because the suspect did not die – there was a full trial and a careful inquiry. It helped gather a lot of data and testimonies. Let us see if we can make sense of all this.
A normal guy. James Holmes was a normal guy. A guy with a perfect past. Normal parents. A normal sister. Normal family problems. The only thing that can be underlined is his introversion and his very high academic results while growing up. With age he became more introverted, but not sad. He always had friends. He was good looking and had a sex life. But emotionally he was particularly cold. He spoke little. He was not very warm. His affective system was stiff… but like so many other people like him. He worked as a counselor in a summer camp at some point. He did great with kids. He was also polite. He never did anything violent in his life before that day when he shot at the audience of this Colorado movie theater.
A smart nerd. What distinguished him from other kids is that he was very rational and very smart academically. He had almost perfect grades. Really high. Maybe high IQ. For sure high memory. In his school life and all the way to university. He finished his BA in neuroscience with perfect grades. Then he applied for a Phd at the best schools in the USA. He picked the 5 or 6 top universities. He was refused. Even for interviews. He could not understand this at all. And indeed it is hard to understand because his grades could not be higher! Almost 4.0. He knew himself as a genius. So he had no plan B. He only applied for the best, he did not expect to be rejected. Why would he? Why would he doubt? He was the perfect student and was used to that reality.
Free fall. This rejection was a big blow for him. He stayed at home doing “nothing”. Sleeping late. Playing video games. Going out. Why not. He’s been set on rails by his parents all his life. A few months later, his puritan mother threatens him: get a job or leave the house!… Through a temporary job agency he finds a job in a pill factory. After a few months, for the coming year, he applies for a second round of universities. He gets 3 offers. He choses the one that pays the highest grant. In the Spring of Summer of 2011 he moves to his campus in Colorado and starts the Phd program, also related to neuroscience. It does not go so well. He passes the first months, from lab group to lab group but he is not proactive enough according to the teachers. He does not come up with stuff, he only does well what he is told to do. This really annoys his peers. They start to sanction him and push him out of their lab groups. This program is all about research in labs and proactive team work. He is not used to this. He has to do public presentations as well. This is a bit hard for him. He gives what he can, but it seems he is not good enough (the environment is extremely competitive). He has a girl friend and for the first time his tells his parents about it. But she stops the relationship and he becomes sad. She breaks up because he is not emotional enough. They keep seeing each other, just for sex… a bit later they break up for good.
Hate of others and love of self. For Christmas, he goes to his parents and he is very sick (mononucleosis). Very weak. He is not happy. Mid March he starts to see this psychiatrist who immediately gives him pills after the first meeting! This is very shocking according to European standards at least. He has to come back every two weeks for short meetings, just to check and change the dose and type of meds… From the start, he tells the “shrink” he has obsessions about killing people. And only one month later he starts buying weapons… It gets worst with time and she (the “psychiatrist”) calls her superior: a more experienced psychiatrist. They both attend the meetings. They feel he is not so well but they judge him as functional. They also offer him free treatment later, when he drops from his program and loosed the access to medical care… but he refuses the free help. He already decided to accomplish his shooting… In his diary he calls it “the mission”… In this handwritten notebook, he first hesitates between becoming a serial killer, like he is shopping for a character… comparing different bad guys options… He finally decides and plans a theater shooting. Very carefully. Very rationally. Like on automatic mode. For more than 3 months!
He start going nuts as soon as he starts the pills. As if he was mind controlled by the pills. Or as if they removed a censorship mechanism inside his brain… Because from that particular moment he starts to deteriorate very fast. His morbid obsessions start to grow. His hate against people, his contempt, his introversion, his paranoia, his disgust… at society in general… While never considering to hurt himself in the process nor before nor after. He had a very high vision of himself and was never suicidal. Always projecting his violent intentions on the outside. In his notes, in the weeks before the event, he sees himself as a God and the rest of the world as shit.
His environment (military funded scientific research, weird psychiatrist giving powerful pills). He was arrested alive, wondering around outside of his car. He immediately told the police he had rigged and booby trapped his apartment with bombs. Before the shooting, he also called the emergency medical number of the university and he hang up when the operator answered… In his notebook he pretends to try to understand what is going on with his brain. He writes that he has a broken brain. (To be able to plead insanity later? It is very possible.) He was not crazy in a confused way. He was very rational. His shooting was the rational conclusion of his philosophical “thoughts”. In the notes it emerges like a mathematical problem he solves with an “eureka” moment: to kill people. He was compelled to do this action in order to fulfill his destiny… If he was mind controlled he would not act differently… The particular pills he took are associated with a history of violence. Why did the psychiatrists give him pills so fast and so casually? Apparently these pills remove the guilt about violence. I think he even says so in his notebook. It was reported the subjects feel “free” to transgress etc. This is weird. He might have been the subject of an experiment. (The infamous Unabomber was used as a guinea pig when he was at Harvard from 1959 to 1962.)
An anarchist? He tells the psychiatrists who ask what he is reading these days: Nietzsche, Kaczynski (that is the unabomber) and the Tylenol killer (who was never found)… In his notebook his writes a symbol (see the cover picture of this article) of ZERO EQUALS INFINITY… And later in prison, he pins the same symbol on the wall of this cell… with pictures of girls (fans!) around it… Reminder: Zero Equals Infinity is the title of the text or “manifesto” of a man called David Young who tried to blow up a school with his wife in the 80’s.
For his action, Holmes opted for a mass shooting in a theater… late at night… not willing to target children (he says)… He chooses the day of the release of “Batman – The Dark Knight Rises”. He really plans his thing like an evil narcissistic genius. Like he was the Dark Knight! Like this is cool. And indeed it is for his fans! This is insane America. He casted himself in his own movie. He dove his hair red a week or two before the act. He wore dark eye contacts to make his eyes dark. He designed everything like an artist. Also he had loud music in his ears when he shot the people. So he did not even seem to enjoy the act itself. He forced himself, to accomplish the mission. To become famous and earn a destiny or an identity? Or was he mind controlled?
US secret programs. Many secret programs involving human experiments (unethical and without the consent of the person) are documented today in the US. Some oriented towards mind control. Some using drugs and some using electromagnetic waves. Some to create spy assassins who can be controlled like robots. Some to create super soldiers. Super smart. Or who can stay longer underwater. Or with stronger flexible bones to resits chock or what not… Holmes was in a University program dealing with brain experiments in neuroscience. The university is related to the Army. There are soldiers and veterans around him.
His father Robert Holmes is also super smart and also very introverted like his son… The grand-father was working for the American intelligence services and moved to a new country every year (he was a translator in Turkish). His son Robert, the father of the shooter, had a twin sister… who broke down at 19 y.o. And broke down again later. Twins are smoking guns in science… Scientists “love” twins. And they were born around 1960! When crazy secret experiments were booming. This is suspicious. It would be interesting to investigate the past of the Father, his twin Sister… and the Grand-Father!
What is disturbing about this horrible massacre (July 20, 2012) is that it could happen again at any time. The guy showed no serious signs of being weird, or mad enough to be stopped… Only a few months before the crime, he started loosing it… And in his notebook he pretends to try not to loose it… The details of his disease or thought process is hard to explain… Did he start to deteriorate socially because he failed academically? or did he fail because he was loosing it?… What a weird way of loosing it. Self producing a “mission”.
The idea that the killer has been brainwashed… and induced to act as he did by advanced scientific methods… is a true possibility that must be considered. Even though there is no hard evidence to prove it. We must keep the idea in mind BECAUSE it happened before and BECAUSE we know it is possible to do such a thing.
We have a serious mobile for this sort of terrorist operations: gun control… and the will by the Intelligence Community or “Deep State” to re-elect Obama for reasons related to “continuity of government”… We know for sure the Sandy Hook school shooting that happened 6 months later in Newtown CT was entirely staged.
Last but not least, Holmes declared himself a threat! He kept repeating he was obsessed with killing people! And the shrink (who worked for the Pentagon before) heard him and notified the authorities! So knowing how the FBI works and the recurrences of shootings in the US in the recent past… we must assume he was under very close surveillance… by the NSA or the “system”… Maybe they were watching him and let it happen.
About Manchurian Candidates and MK-ULTRA
We know the CIA developed mind control technics based on hypnosis to create controlled assassins (Manchurian Candidates). We know about the MK-ULTRA project because it was leaked or disclosed. Most similar “black” projects we do not know about. It is very possible Holmes was the target of such an experiment. This action – among others like the fake killing of Bin Laden – helped get Obama re-elected.
In the example demonstrated by Derren Brown in his show (in the video below) we understand how important is the relationship between the “master” and his “slave”. And how important also is the type of mind of the “slave”. He is chosen among a crowd, through a selection process.
In the case of Holmes, it took at least 4 months and involved pills. It looks as if he was self-hypnosed… As if he did it to himself… As if he mind controlled himself… He was very solitary. He had no empathic guru or strong model… He is not open to others, except to himself. If he is just a psycho… the nature of is pathology is fascinating because of that. He would have programmed himself.
If he is a victim… the culprits are very well hidden: behind Holmes’s own creativity. It seems as if he was a victim of himself. The mind control “device” or lets say the pills, would only introduce the “KILL PEOPLE” element… and himself or his soul or his “existential software” would be free to decide for himself what script, what “solution”… in his case it was the “mission” he created himself like a contemporary artist creates a performance… The people behind Sirhan the assassin of Robert Kennedy, are still hidden… For Holmes, not only they are well hidden (if they exist) but the nature of his “mission” is authentic. He is the author of his performance.
Let us recount the story once again.
“Jimmy” is a good looking smart guy. Highly rational. Very successful. He got a B.A. in neuroscience with outstanding grades and honors. He started a Phd with a generous yearly grant. He had a girl friend, more or less. They broke up. He was not happy about it. They still saw each other “just for sex” for a while. He was not very emotional but he had a sex life. He seemed to have really liked his girl friend. Suddenly, a few months before the event, he failed one oral exam and then dropped out of his studies and started planing the shooting right there! He bought a gun the same day he failed the exam!… It is all in his notebook. The decision process. The plans of the theater with the exits and the list of weapons he got. In 2015, he was sentenced for life without parole. He was judged insane but rational. He escaped the death penalty.
His disease is weird. It is a sort of autistic schizophrenia but it looks weird. It started when he was young it seems. This information is not reliable. Many testimonies from the trial (2015) cannot be fully relied upon because his defense had to prove insanity to save his life… So we are told as a kid, he was hearing weird noises in the walls, like nails being hammered… He supposedly tried to commit suicide once at 11 y.o. He always thought he brain was “broken”, they say. But his sister and his parents deny all of this when one listens well to their testimonies. Only a few months before the killing, we know as a fact that he wrote that his mind felt broken. What might have been there before became stronger. The downward curve starts 6 months before the act and accelerates dramatically only 3 month before the act. As if he was giving birth to an alien. To his mass murder event he likes to call “the mission”.
In the notebook he tries to diagnose himself. He says he clearly knows he is sick. So he is very rational. Can we believe him to be at the same time so rational and so insane? Can this be found in human nature? or is it from the pills he is taking. He lists all his symptoms in the notebook. He pretends to actively investigate what is going on with him. It seems he is studying neuroscience to try to fix his own brain. A bit like one goes towards theology or philosophy to make sense of the world. His spirituality is brain science. He says he does not understand what is going on… and then he understands he has to “create” to make sense of himself… to act… The answer to his physical and metaphysical self becomes “the mission”.
Before the shooting, he posts his notebook to the shrink. Like he is sending her his feedback for the pills she tried on him…
One can suspect he did all of this only to be able to plead insanity. It would make sense. He is ultra rational and would never hurt himself. So it makes a lot of sense if he planted elements early to help argue his insanity case later. This would explain why his insanity looks so fake. Because he is half-faking it in order to protect himself from society… and avoid death penalty… We know for a fact this guy is extremely smart when he wants to. His disease seems to be only a lack of human empathy.
In his notes, his evil “mission” seems like an unrelated layer of thought that he tries to fight. He said he called a special emergency number just before his crime… but no one replied after 9 rings. And more verifiable: when arrested, he immediately told the police his apartment was rigged out with bombs! Why would he do that? Was this confession part of his plan? Or did he suddenly change his mind and decide shooting at people was enough? His home was totally boobytrapped with enough bombs to blow up the building! Did he confess just to attract sympathy for his trial? To simulate something in him was fighting against the “mission”? Of because something in him was really fighting the “mission”?
And where the hell did he learn how to make bombs? Probably online. He was a scientist.
There are enough elements to say he was inhabited by two conflicting scripts. He could very well have been mind controlled like the guy who killed John Lennon. He stated he was on autopilot during the shooting. He plugged his ears with loud music. He did not enjoy doing the killings. He did not like it. He just felt he “had to do it”. For where it would lead him. As if the “mission” was his door to paradise (in his program).
He might have thought of paradise as a sort of dark fame… among a certain type of crazy killer fans… and as prison as protection… free rent, free food and free medical insurance. Once more there was no “pleasure” in his act. Only the pleasure for the rational equation that led him there… He believed his mission was his salvation… The doorway or the means to move on to some place better than where he was in his life… He felt relieved or happy or satisfied to have completed “the mission”.
According to his note, he believed that the people he killed (12) are additional points for him. He feels he earned 12 points because 12 died. The 58 other injured are what he calls “collateral damage”. (It sounds like the rules of a game.)
The urge to kill and complete what he calls “the mission” is not related to who he is. It has no meaning. It is just like that. It is like a reverse suicide. (A salvation.) If he was not narcissistic maybe he would have killed himself. It could be his response to his academic failure. How he chose to tell it and how he lived it. He sees no evil in his act.
The shooter reportedly gave a presentation at the Anschutz campus in May on Micro DNA Biomarkers in a class titled “Biological Basis of Psychiatric and Neurological Disorders.”
About the trial
At his trial his parents were there every day. It lasted about 2 months. They never gave interviews. The father Robert Milton Holmes Jr. is a highly qualified mathematician specialized in probabilities and statistics. He works for a company in relation to credit card and financial anti-fraud systems. His grand-father (also named Robert Holmes) was related to the military. The mother, Irene, is a nurse. (The area where they live and the areas where James studied are compatible with the theory that he and his father were genetically modified… or the subject of some kind of human experiment related to high IQ. His father in particular because we know he had a twin sister.)
Robert the father was born in Istanbul. Betty is the name of his twin sister. This is very suspicious as experimenters LOVE twins. And their father (James’s grand-father) was in the US army. They kept moving almost every year when Robert Jr. was young. Turkey, Washington DC, Germany, other places… They later settled in Monterrey. Betty the twin, had a nervous breakdown when she was 19. And then later again. Something related to schizophrenia. Betty is mentally sick but functions OK today.
The grand-father himself had some mental issues at the end of his life (OCD, psychiatric army unit). He has a younger brother (James). The father has a psychological profile very similar (even worst actually) to his son the shooter. A big math brain specialized in probabilities. Highly introverted (autistic). Not emotional at all. Not social at all… He went to Stanford (Math), UCLA (Math BA and Masters and then switched to BIO statistics for a second Masters), then Berklay (Phd in Statistics obtained in 1981). He worked for a big International anti-fraud protection for financial transaction. Modeling schemes and patterns to spot fraud. From 2000 up to 2013 in San Diego.
Father says, after their move to San Diego in 2000 (in a more boring street and less social area) they saw a counsellor a number of times for James (and for the whole family as well) because he was not socializing. (Was this invented by the defense for the trial?) He was about 13 y.o. at that time. Also according to the mother she took him to a counselor when he was 8 y.o. as well, but the father says he does not recall that.
It seems there is an essay by the shooter written in 1998… about his genealogy. (I did not check if this is true and what it says.)
After his BA, he applied to the top universities and was refused by all. Weird. He himself did not expect it. He had no plan B. It was the biggest shock of his life. He did nothing for a while and got lazy at home. Mother said get a job or leave the house. Through an agency he got a job in a pill factory. Then he applied to another round of universities. He got 3 interviews and chose Colorado because of the high grant. He got there in May 2011.
On Christmas with his family, he was sick (mononucleosis). He was very week. He also had this girl friend he seemed to like. It was his first serious relationship… The first one he would talk to his parents about.
On March 15, he emailed his father and said he filed his taxes and declared himself as dependent from him… In February he wrote things were not going so well (university and love). On April 17 (mothers day) he calls his mother; at that point he already bought the gas mask and stuff! On May 1st he tried to call his father… He writes about the new girl friend. Unhappy at school. On June 11 he emails father to tell him he failed… He said he would not move back to their house, only as a last resort to homelessness. He kept email communication. He gave them his alternative email addresses (something like dsherlockb@hotmail)… He sent his parents 3 other emails. June 14+. June 20+. He said he was denied unemployment after applying. July 4. Phone call check up. July 12. Parents said they would come in August, he said OK. (The shooting was on July 20.)
According to the mother Irene. Jim (she calls Jim or Jimmy) played the trumpet… the mother, more than the father was very attached to academic achievements… He loved soccer and played all his life. This means he had no problem playing with teams. He was “very very” fast when he was young. Normal kid all the way with high physical and mental skills. He seems more normal than his father. More social… He just started deconstructing himself when he started failing. After a life of “never failing”… He had no past experience of failure. He did not know how to deal with failure. He had nothing else to grab when his screen shattered. He had no story/stories. He life was flat. No scars. No experience of the “negative”. At 24, a very shallow experience of time also. Investing more into video games than in real life. A lot of role playing games like World of Warcraft and a lot of Diablo. This guy had no personal stories to hold on to. The toolbox of his old self was no good anymore. He needed new self. He grew up among sheep thinking he was a super sheep, and realized that he was wolf. A bad evil wolf. He went from superhero to supervillain. And he wanted to come out of his closet. A design a new “dark” costume. He brainstormed what kind of criminal he wanted to be… like when a player has to build a character in a role playing game. The title of his performance ended up being: “A Dark Knight rises”…
He had the life of a brave skilled robot. Physically fast. Smart. He studied neuroscience for the real love of it. Because it sounds smart and because it is his version of psychology. For him, neuroscience is the real adult version of psychology… His father is a mathematician specialized in statistics (a world expert). This is somehow special. In this realm, theology, philosophy, literature do not make much sense. His mother studied and teaches literature. So for him this was a girly thing. A lower archaic approach of knowledge. As a real man – like his father – he went for science and neuroscience. It was his equivalent of metaphysics… At 6 y.o. in 1993, he learns a little of martial arts.
The mother is a super-mom. She is a christian, strong minded, wise, reasonable, very moral and ethical, she engineers her kid for the best. She was very proud of her super son. Handsome, smart, strong… She made him. Around 11 y.o. he became less of a “mom-hugger”. When his eggshell cracked, he found himself is a very boring (humanely poor) world. American suburbia. It is hard to imagine him have the same life in France or Italy… He is a product of a specific world. This expression, this kind of “murder performance” is cultural. Whether we like it or not, it is very American. It is part of its history. And what about the trial? The incredible trial he had!… It is his biography! Made of free. It is a present to him. 2 months! Better than a long feature movie… Suddenly he is the center of a (expensive) project! Carved forever in history. A “reality novel”. It is the dream of any artists to have a crowd of people and rational experts study a mystery that came out of your asshole. (James Joyce would enjoy watching crowds of academic brains dancing around Finnegans Wake trying to make sense of it.)
[it reminds me of myself except I slowly broke the window, much earlier, and got exposed to art, the mysterious, the art of story telling… Maybe I had more love of more freedom. I had an inner world… I was very good at school – I skipped a year – and was considered smart, I liked things to come to me with a high idea of myself, very high ego… all the way to the first year of High School. Before puberty starts to kick in around 11 y.o… My first love stories were pathetic, I felt autistic. It hurt very much to be confronted to the real world when you had the life of an angel… I was super cerebral and pushed in a certain real… that I had to deconstruct… to make sense of it and navigate this new realm. It was a lot of work. In my teens, I was good boy until 17. I was promised by my “owners” that I would be 100% free after high school – an adult who can drive a car – if I did well… and I felt scammed by my “owners”… or by the world… by how the current in the river was trying to push me one way, and slowly, I hacked that current. I became creative, taking my life as a book I can write, as art, as a story/movie I was responsible for.]
It was him who came to psychiatrist Dr. Lynne Fenton. At the student mental health service. He called for an appointment. On March 16 2012, he saw the social worker Miss. Rob. She is not a psychiatrist. She said he was very anxious and nervous, maybe OCD, and had thoughts about killing people… She emailed Dr. Fenton. And then James Holmes emailed Dr. Fenton for the first time. It was March 27. He was very nervous and very quiet. Talked about the break up with the girl friend 2 weeks earlier. He made very short answers. She describes him as extremely quiet. Speaking very little. No handshake, very minimal. Nothing about the guns and weapons. Nothing about the plan. Not suicidal, no depression, no hallucination, nothing like that. He did not tell her about symptoms. Except occasional insomnia. He said he was sleeping 9 hours a day and still got tired! She said she “felt” a hate against mankind in him. He talked about having homicidal thoughts 3 times a day!
He said: “I don’t have relationships with people, they have relationships with me.” When he was 10 y.o. he got eyeglasses to correct his vision, and from that point he wanted to “overcome biology.” He was like a positivist nazi. He also said he would not act on his homicidal thoughts… He said his OCD thoughts were the worst they had been. The biological problem. Killing everyone would solve the problem but it is not possible… He said he would not hurt himself at all. He was a little sad from the break up. At the end of this first session, she advised medication to him. (This is insane.)
It was justified because of the competitive academic environment. No time for psychoanalysis. The response is immediately chemical. He was failing in his studies (because of his lack of empathy with team work). And he thought it was related to something in his brain that was broken. His brain was used to solve everything alone. Like a computer. And he was trying to solve his life problems with the same “mathematical” spirit. (Ignoring that human intelligence is also emotional. Specially in research and the post-graduate realm. When you become more than a soldier.)
It was his lab presentations, he was anxious about. He took three medications. The psychiatrist told him to try stuff and changed the prescription after every session according to his feed back… She mentioned sertraline (anti-depressent)… klonopin a.k.a. clonazepam (antipsychotic)… He did not like these meds, so she gave him something called propranolol… He liked it but still had memory problems… The sertraline made him tired and over-sleepy…
April 3: antipsychotic – he declined it, too sedative… April 3rd: med check. April 17: med re-check… and more talk… more than usual… 30 to 40 min. He seemed fine. Talked very little about the homicide thoughts. Said he broke up “for good” a week ago. Obsessive though about women, also about men and all people in general. But he would not elaborate. He has social disorder. He makes odd statements. He wanted to know her philosophy of life… He complained sleeping too much…
May 1st 2012 : she made a mistake with his name on the ordinance for the meds… He complained by email… with a symbol emoticon… later he said it represented him punching her in the eye!… He tells her: “violence is this what you need to hear?”… He talked about the ex-girl friend… He said she was depressed… He told about the text messages to the ex… He said he was seeing another girl now, from his class of 6 girls… He said his relationship always lasted 4 months max… He would stop talking to them after that…
His exams were coming… He had to pick one of two labs in his program. Regarding the mistake she made on the ordinance, he said: “Your sub-conscient makes you do things.” At this point, the psychiatrist suggests to have a second psychiatrist involved (Dr. Robert Feinstein). He said joking: “Oh is it to lock me up?” He accepted. Later he asked for more meds on the phone (not wanting to meet). Already 5 weeks on meds. May 31st: He told Feinstein he hated people after he broke up with the girl. He said he hates “sheeple and shepherds.”
He said his mom was overly-altruistic. He called her on mother’s days. The father is a statistician. Not very affective. Normal sister rivalry. He said he was not studying for the coming exam and also not worrying about it… He said he plaid DIABLO III for like 100 hours in the past 2 weeks… He said he was reading: “Nietzsche, Kaczynski, and the Tylenol terrorist“…
Nietzsche a German philosopher whose rejection of any universal moral law was summarized in his statement “God is dead.” Ted Kaczynski, the terrorist known as the Unabomber. An anarcho-primitivist activist. The so-called Tylenol terrorist caused deaths through drug tampering before they arrive in stores. He was never caught.
He was very rational… He refused anti-psychotic meds… June 11: He came in for a 45 minutes session but only stayed for 20 minutes. He declared he failed his exam. He said he will drop out of the program. He felt relieved about it. Relaxed. He was happy about it. (What was the program about?) He said he would look for a job now without specifying… and stay in Colorado for the Summer, up until November, to finish the lease he had… He had not told his parents but he told them he “might” leave the program some month ago. He did not seem mad at the program or at the school or staff or students… He said he had USD 10.000 in his account and that his parents could help him out if needed. The psychiatrists recommended therapy. He said he had no insurance. They said they would see him for free! (Why would they do that? Were they worried for him? DO they often offer their services for free? According to what criteria?) He said no. He left early. He saw no reason to continue the sessions once out of university. Said he had to meet with his advisers. He seemed to be functioning well they said at the trial… For her defense, Dr. Fenton said why she could not have – legally – stopped him (with a mental hold order). She called the “threat-assessment team” 6 weeks prior to the shootings… For a background check. To see if he owned weapons. If he had altercations or military background etc. And she received NO REPLY from them. (Why?) We know he already had the weapons. We know he bought weapons on the day of his failed oral exam much earlier.
She recounts she then wanted to know more about the timeline of his mental health. See how recent was this mental deterioration… She wanted someone who knew him for a long time, so she called the mother. But first she called his grad school. She talked to the adviser. She got the impression it was not new… The psychiatrists asked him if they could talk to someone like his mom. He refused. They did it anyway… Mom said she said he was always shy and weird. He saw a counselor when he was a kid. No precise psychiatric issues. Social phobia. No therapy. Dr. Fenton concluded it was NOT a new change. It started when he was a child. The extreme social phobia. In her report she said: hostile, contemptuous, evasive, guarded, uncooperative. Distant. Closed. Odd/bizarre. Makes strange statements. Paranoid micro-statements. Stiff. Very hard for him to talk. Spoke very little. He looked away. And around. Fully aware, rational, just with homicidal thoughts. Schizoid. Odd. Extreme loner.

Dr. Fenton had conducted research on schizophrenia, including a two-year grant to work in the schizophrenia research department of the US Department of Veterans Affairs from 2008 to 2010. She is a member of the campus-based “behavioral assessment and threat assessment team,” which helps faculty and staff deal with “individuals who may be threatening, disruptive or otherwise problematic,” according to that group’s website… It could not be ascertained if Fenton was caring for Holmes under the threat-assessment program or under routine counseling she provided to students on campus… A good investigator would start by interviewing her… Her and her methods. (And Holmes’s father genealogy (and his twin) and the grand-father.)
Holmes posted his notebook to her just before the shooting but it was intercepted in the mail before it got to her. (The filing says his communication with her are protected because he was her psychiatric patient. So I suppose she could legally refuse to talk about Holmes. Also she was not available for Reuters at the time. And further more the judge issued a gag order over the case to the press. The defense supported this gag order.)
Dr. Feinstein confirms what Dr. Fenton said… Dropping out of school was a relief for him. School was not a good fit for him. The doctor confirmed about Homes planing to stay in Colorado until November. Looking for a job. Rich of USD 10.000. Refused free therapy… Because he found the solution for himself: the mission!… zero equals infinity!… A place into the museum as a low life freak… not far from the Montreal idiot Luka Magnotta. A frustrated looser – with skills – looking for fame! Actually: infame! Can we accept this explanation? with a background like his? From someone who “had it all”: a highly skilled mind and body? He wanted to relax! To have fun! To fuck cute girls. Maybe all he needed was a sabbatical year without the parental pressure (the financial pressure)… The parents were pressing to work or study more or die… in other words: go to hell. He tried the first options, work a little, study more… and when everything failed he chose to to hell… and planned his way to get there.
Holmes had anxiety and fear. The meds the Dr gave him removed those… but increased the homicidal thoughts… The meds removed the fear of consequences of his thoughts… He reports in his notebook: “First appearance of mania occurs, not good mania. Anxiety and fear disappears. No more fear… No fear of consequences… No more fear, hatred unchecked.” The meds psychiatrists prescribed are on the list of drugs most associated with violence. Why? The very long list of dangerous side effects of Sertaline include “abnormal behavior, emotional changes, suicide, anxiety, agitation, aggression and violence.” Holmes showed his contempt to the psychiatrists. He sent the notebook to educate them… He calls them “mind rapists”. (Why would he feel that way? He came for help, by his own will.) He writes about deflecting their questions… He challenged Fenton in one meeting, asking her “Are you just a pill pusher?” And this exactly what she is! She is a crazy and dangerous pill pusher! (Unless she is part of a conspiracy to experiment on him! We must take this into consideration. It is a possibility.)
In a filmed interview two years after the crime (that was played during his trial in 2015), Holmes said he mailed the notebook to Fenton to educate her so that “something like this wouldn’t happen again.” (Most of the young mass shooters in the USA had experience in psychiatric drugs.)

His grades were outstanding. Close to 4.0. Abnormally good. Always. Since he was a kid. All the ways to the BA. The fact that he was refused by the top US school, without an interview, is awkward. This must be investigated. Was it is letters of motivation that were lame? Was it based on quota? This feeling of rejection really changed everything. This broke him because he could not understand it. Other than a result of a broken mind. His record was perfect! And he went from perfect to downwards… He started staying home playing video games and so on. When mom forced him to get a job he got one. Then he did that second round of applications and so on. His grades were good at the beginning. The best student “on paper”. But abnormally quiet. Spoke very little. He did not show a lot of enthusiasm because his replies were short.
In June he went to a shooting range (according to the manager) to practice… He had RED hair already… He came back a week or two later… still had red hair… pistol range… and riffle (AR15)…
His downstairs neighbor smelled gasoline before July 10. And on the day of the shooting she heard loud techno music playing very late at night. A playlist playing in a loop. For one hour. She called the cops twice and they did not come… Only much later at 2:00 AM, after the shooting and the arrest, the swat team evacuated the building. She saw the shooter only once before, outside. She said hello and he did not reply.

Something happened at the trial on the last day, when there was the most people in the room, a woman called Deborah Cave was forcibly removed from the courtroom after she had an emotional outburst where she screamed to the jurors. She had filed a request to testify earlier by it was refused by the judge. She climbed 2 seat rows to come closer to the parents before she started screaming. She was very violent when forced out. Very intense. She was sent to jail for three weeks for “contempt of court”. When she had a chance to speak at her “contempt of court” hearing she complained she had been harassed. She said her postal mail she sent to the shooter was sent back to her. It has been revealed in the news he received pictures of women he pinned on his wall (fans of his evil deeds!? people wanting to save his soul?).
This is an approximative transcript of what Deborah Cave said: “He is wrong, because mental illness is everything. I am the biological mother. She is a surrogate. They took him away from me. (unintelligible) Because they knew he had mental illness. (unintelligible) My family is full of FBI. He’s got something in his blood. Don’t kill him! Don’t kill him! It’s not his fault.”
The prosecution was very severe with her outburst at this particular time… and they insisted of her being charged for contempt of court. The defense minimized it and said she was obviously “mentally ill”. The judge asked the jurors not to consider this interference at all.
At her hearing she said she was heavily harassed and interrogated by police. She said she sent the shooters cards and letters… they went through except her picture apparently! She could have said more – like she did when she screamed – but she chose not too. she did not repeat that she was the real mother or anything… She just seemed to want to “plead” against the death penalty, in a humane christian way. (In addition maybe go to prison to avoid being homeless as she presented herself as homeless.)

These are the possible theories:
THEORY 1: Holmes is insane. Very rational, smart and pure evil. He did it for “nothing”. Like art is for “nothing”. For fame. And because this is the result of his metaphysics… The result of pure reason alone (in the meaning of Emmanuel Kant)… life = death… zero equals infinity… like he found God, or the absence of God… or both… like he found the “truth”… (it is in his notebook, see picture below…
This reminds of the “philosophy” of David Young who tried to blow up a school with more than 100 children with his wife in 1986, and who wrote a manifesto called “zero equals infinity“… Young gave copies to the hostages and sent a copy to Ronald Reagan! He asked for money versus the hostages… but it seemed his real hidden plan – according to Young’s notebook – was to kill the children… to take them with him… to another world! after death! And a miracle happened (according to many of the children’s testimony).
THEORY 2: Holmes was the victim of a conspiracy… He was the subject of a secret medical experiments since he was born. Or his father and his sister twin were the ones experimented upon… His parents would know but would refuse to talk about it. Deborah Cave pretends to know more but she was silenced (this is highly unlikely!). And the psychiatrists are hiding behind the secret of her profession.
THEORY 2-A: If Holmes was the subject of a military experiment (super soldier engineering or advanced mind control) the question would be: is his act of violence – his mental disease – the consequence gone wrong of something intended to be good? Like for example a genetic manipulation in order to enhance his brain that failed instead and made him nuts?
THEORY 2-B: Was his act of violence programmed? Was he was remotely controlled? Was he a Manchurian candidate on “stand by”? On stand by until he was activated a few months before the act?… Are there similarities with the way the killer of John Lennon acted? The pattern is very similar.
THEORY 3: This one is very unlikely! But it was speculated about… It was said the father was going to testify in a very important trial about bank financial fraud. That he was key witness in some big affaire, and this action on his son would be a way to intimidate him. It was also said the same about the father of Adam Lanza the shooter of Sandy Hook (Newtown, CT – Dec 2012). We know for sure that the Sandy Hook event was hoax. So this theory sounds like planted disinformation.

Aurora massacre: links between James Holmes and U.S. government research

July 23-24, 2012 — Aurora massacre: several links between James Holmes and U.S. government research (Salk Institute involved in neurologically enhancing soldiers’ abilities on battlefield…connections to DARPA)
James Holmes, the 24-year old suspect in the mass shooting of Batman “The Dark Knight Rises” movie goers in Aurora, Colorado that left 12 people dead and 58 injured, has had a number of links to U.S. government-funded research centers. Holmes’s past association with government research projects has prompted police and federal law enforcement officials to order laboratories and schools with which Holmes has had a past association not to talk to the press about Holmes.
Holmes was one of six recipients of a National Institutes of Health Neuroscience Training Grant at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Denver. Holme is a graduate of the University of California at Riverside with a Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience. Although Holmes dropped out of the PhD neuroscience program at Anschutz in June, police evacuated two buildings at the Anschutz center after the massacre at the Aurora movie theater. Holmes reportedly gave a presentation at the Anschutz campus in May on Micro DNA Biomarkers in a class titled “Biological Basis of Psychiatric and Neurological Disorders.”
Initial reports of Holmes having an accomplice in the theater shooting have been discounted by the Aurora police. However, no explanation has been given by police why the Anschutz campus buildings were evacuated after Holmes was already in custody in the Arapahoe County jail.
The Anschutz Medical Campus is on the recently de-commisioned site of the U.S. Army’s Fitzsimons Army Medical Center and is named after Philip Anschutz, the billionaire Christian fundamentalist oil and railroad tycoon who also owns The Examiner newspaper chain and website and the neo-conservative Weekly Standard. The Anschutz Medical Campus was built by a $91 million grant from the Anschutz Foundation.
In 2006, at the age of 18, Holmes served as a research intern at the Salk Institute at the University of California at San Diego in La Jolla. It is noteworthy that for the previous two years before Holmes worked at the Salk Institute, the research center was partnered with the Defense Advance Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Columbia University, University of California at San Francisco, University of Wisconsin at Madison, Wake Forest University, and the Mars Company (the manufacturers of Milky Way and Snickers bars) to prevent fatigue in combat troops through the enhanced use of epicatechina, a blood flow-increasing and blood vessel-dilating anti-oxidant flavanol found in cocoa and, particularly, in dark chocolate.
The research was part of a larger DARPA program known as the “Peak Soldier Performance Program,” which involved creating brain-machine interfaces for battlefield use, including human-robotic bionics for legs, arms, and eyes. DARPA works closely with the Defense Science Office on projects that include the medical research community. Fitzsimons was at the forefront of DARPA research on the use of brain-connected “neuroprosthetic” limbs for soldiers amputated or paralyzed in combat.
According to his LinkedIn profile, James Holmes’s father, Dr. Robert Holmes, who received a PhD in Statistics in 1981 from the University of California at Berkeley, worked for San Diego-based HNC Software, Inc. from 2000 to 2002. HNC, known as a “neural network” company, and DARPA, beginning in 1998, have worked on developing “cortronic neural networks,” which would allow machines to interpret aural and visual stimuli to think like humans. The cortronic concept was developed by HNC Software’s chief scientist and co-founder, Robert Hecht-Nielsen. HNC merged with the Minneapolis-based Fair Isaac Corporation (FICO), a computer analysis and decision-making company. Robert Holmes continues to work at FICO.
It has also emerged that Holmes, when he was 20, worked as a camp counselor at Camp Max Straus of the Jewish Big Brothers and Sister of Los Angeles. According to the Jewish Journal, among other tasks, Holmes helped to teach boys between the ages of 7 to 10 archery. In another unusual detail, the car Holmes used to drive to the Aurora movie theater had Tennessee plates. Holmes is originally from San Diego.
James Holmes is the grandson of Lt. Col. Robert Holmes, one of the first Turkish language graduates of the Army Language School, later the Defense Language Institute, in Monterey, California. Graduating from the Turkish language class in 1948, Holmes spent a career in the Army, which likely included more than a few intelligence-related assignments. Typically, U.S. military officers conversant in Turkish served with either the Defense Intelligence Agency or the Central Intelligence Agency at either the U.S. embassy in Ankara or the Consulate General in Istanbul, or both.
Terrence Sejnowski, the Francis Crick Professor at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and the director of the Computational Neurobiology Laboratory, in an interview with Cognitive Science Online in 2008, had the following comment about recent studies of the human brain: “Alan Newell [cognitive psychology researcher at the intelligence community-linked RAND Corporation] once said that when AI [artificial intelligence] was founded not enough was known about the brain to be of any help and in the early 1980s, symbol processing was the only game in town. That has changed and we now know a lot about the brain, perhaps more than we need to know [emphasis added].”
More than we need to know!
The links between the younger and elder Holmes and U.S. government research on creating super-soldiers, human brain-machine interfaces, and human-like robots beg the question: “Was James Holmes engaged in a real-life Jason Bourne TREADSTONE project that broke down and resulted in deadly consequences in Aurora, Colorado?” In any event, if the Batman movies are now serving as a newer version of J.D. Salinger’s “Catcher in the Rye” subliminal messaging triggering mechanism, — Salinger’s novel was of interest to a number of American political assassins — keep in mind that August 10 is the opening date of The Bourne Legacy. It may be wise to skip that film in the theater for a while.

Note: Robert Holmes, the shooting suspect’s father, is a senior lead scientist with FICO, the American credit score company. He was scheduled to testify in the next few weeks before a US Senate panel that is investigating the largest bank fraud scandal in world history.
